July 15, 2020
To assist with small businesses that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19, the State of Michigan has allocated $100 million of funding from the CARES act for the Michigan Small Business Restart Program. Applications are now open for grant funding to support the economic recovery for these small businesses and are available through August 5.
Michigan businesses with 50 or fewer employees who can demonstrate the following may be eligible for the grant:
1) Part of an industry or nonprofit that can show it's been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 emergency
2) Needs working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility expenses or other expenses
3) Demonstrates an income loss as a result of the COVID-19 emergency as determined by the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF)
In addition, at least 30% of grants are being allocated toward women-owned, minority-owned, or veteran-owned businesses that qualify.
The application is available at michiganbusiness.org/restart.
